International Workshops

In the 2017 assembly at the ESEH meeting in Zagreb, it was decided that ICEHO would fund workshops with two main purposes: 1) Promoting the creation or strengthening of associations of environmental history in regions where they do not exist or are weak, and 2) Promoting and improving teaching on this subject where it is not yet taught or ill-developed. A committee composed of Claudia Leal (Colombia), Alan MacEachern (Canada), and Daisy Oninge (Nigeria) approved US$ 5,000 for each of the three proposals that were presented, which came from Zimbabwe, Central America, and Australasia, and provided advice so that the workshops would meet ICEHO’s goals.
