Verena Winiwarter is the former president of the International Consortium of Environmental History Organizations (ICEHO). She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental History from the University of Vienna. She is currently Professor for Environmental History at the Institute of Social Ecology, Department of Economics and Social Sciences, University of Natural Resources & Life Sciences, Vienna.
